Presidential Envoy and Advisor to the President of Sri Lanka pays a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs

The Presidential Envoy and Advisor to the President of Sri Lanka, Honorable Niranjan Deva Aditya paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid, today.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this morning, Minister Shahid welcomed the Presidential Envoy to the Maldives and reflected on the long history of bilateral relations and the strong people to people ties between the Maldives and Sri Lanka. The Minister highlighted that Maldives and Sri Lanka have been crucial to each other’s development in the past and will continue to support Sri Lanka in their efforts for economic revitalization.

Minister Shahid and the Presidential Envoy reiterated the commitment of both Governments to continue working closely together, bilaterally and in the international fora, on issues of shared importance.

Minister Shahid was accompanied to the Meeting by Foreign Secretary, Ahmed Latheef, Secretary-Economic Cooperation, Dr. Hussain Niyaz, Secretary-Bilateral, Dr. Hala Hameed, Additional Secretary, Mohamed Faisal and Director, Moomina Ibrahim.

The Presidential Envoy and Advisor to the President of Sri Lanka is presently undertaking an official visit to the Maldives from 04 - 08 April 2023.
