12 September 2013, Male';President Dr. Mohamed Waheed has appointed Minister of Environment and Energy Dr. Mariyam Shakeela, as the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The position was previously held by the Minister of Education, Dr. Asim Ahmed.
