Non-Resident Ambassador of Maldives to Italy presents Letter of Credence to the President of Italy

His Excellency Dr. Asim Ahmed presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency Mr. Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic, as the Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Italy at a ceremony held at the Quirinale Palace in Rome, Italy today.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Asim Ahmed conveyed greetings from His Excellency, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of Maldives to the President, and the People of Italy. Ambassador Asim further expressed commitment to work closely with the Government of Italy during his tenure with a renewed focus on enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.

During his visit to Italy, Ambassador Asim Ahmed met with officials from the Italian government and discussed ways to further strengthen the traditional, close and friendly relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Asim was accompanied by Mr. Hassan Hussain Shihab, Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Maldives to the United Nations and other International Organizations at Geneva.
