Newly appointed Non-Resident Ambassador of Belgium to Maldives calls on Minister of State for Foreign Affairs
The newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, His Excellency Didier Vanderhasselt paid a courtesy call on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, His Excellency Ahmed Khaleel, today.
State Minister Khaleel congratulated Ambassador Vanderhasselt on presenting credentials to His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, President of the Republic of Maldives and explored ways to further strengthen the existing ties between the Maldives and Belgium during his tenure. During the discussions, State Minister Khaleel reaffirmed Maldives' commitment to expand the longstanding partnership between Maldives and Belgium as well as the European Union, especially in the areas of trade, exports, environment and climate change.
State Minister Khaleel was accompanied by Mr. Ahmed Latheef, Foreign Secretary, Dr. Hala Hameed, Secretary-Bilateral, Ms. Shiuneen Rasheed, Joint Secretary and Ms. Aminath Shaistha Hamdhan Zaki, Desk Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
