Newly appointed High Commissioner of New Zealand to Maldives calls on Minister of State for Foreign Affairs
High Commissioner of New Zealand to Maldives, Michael Edward Appleton paid a courtesy call on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel, today.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this afternoon, both the State Minister and the High Commissioner held discussions for further strengthening the existing bilateral relations between the two countries in a wide range of areas of mutual importance such as security cooperation, human resource development, COP 26 and climate change and ways to strengthen cooperation at the multilateral domain. Both the State Minister and the High Commissioner also discussed the on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the economic recovery efforts that are underway.
State Minister Khaleel was accompanied by Shiuneen Rasheed, Joint Secretary and Mohamed Shaffau Ibrahim, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
