Newly appointed High Commissioner of Malta to Maldives calls on Minister of State for Foreign Affairs
High Commissioner of Malta to Maldives, Reuben Gauci paid a courtesy call on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel, today.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this afternoon, State Minister Khaleel congratulated High Commissioner Gauci on his appointment and assured Maldives’ willingness to cooperate with Malta in matters of mutual importance such as environment and climate change, human resource development, and economic development.
High Commissioner Gauci thanked the State Minister for the warm welcome, and noting the similarities between the Maldives and Malta, reiterated Malta's commitment to working closely with the Maldives on issues of mutual interest for the two countries.
State Minister Khaleel was accompanied by Shiuneen Rasheed, Joint Secretary and Hussain Azhaan Mohamed Hussain, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
