Newly appointed Ambassador of Bulgaria to the Maldives, Eleonora Dimitrova, called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid, today.
The introductory call took place shortly after Ambassador Dimitrova presented her letter of credence to President Solih in a ceremony held at the President’s Office.
At the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this afternoon, Foreign Minister Shahid congratulated the Ambassador on her appointment and expressed confidence that the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Maldives will continue to grow and flourish in the years to come.
Ambassador Dimitrova discussed areas of economic cooperation and assured the Minister of her commitment to work with the Government of the Maldives, in order to expand the bilateral ties between the two countries.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by Ahmed Khaleel, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Shiuneen Rasheed, Director and Mohamed Shujau, Desk Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
