The new non-resident High Commissioner of the Maldives to Canada, has presented her Letter of Credence to the Governor General of Canada
The new non-resident High Commissioner of the Maldives to Canada, Her Excellency Ms. Thilmeeza Hussain, has presented her Letter of Credence to the Governor General of Canada, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, at the ceremony held today at the Official Residence of the Governor General at Rideau Hall, Ottawa.
Her Excellency Ms. Thilmeeza Hussain was appointed as the new High Commissioner to Canada by the President of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on 12 February 2020. She is the first Maldivian female, appointed as the High Commissioner to Canada. High Commissioner Thilmeeza Hussain is also the Ambassador of the Maldives to the United States and the Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations.
