New Non-Resident Ambassador of the Philippines to Maldives calls on Minister of State for Foreign Affairs
The newly appointed Non-Resident Ambassador of the Philippines to Maldives, His Excellency Alan L.Deniega called on Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ahmed Khaleel, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, following the presentation of his credentials to H.E President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at a ceremony held this morning at the President’s Office.
State Minister Khaleel congratulated Ambassador Deniega on his appointment as the Ambassador of the Philippines to Maldives and expressed hope that the close bilateral relations that exist between both the countries would be further strengthened during Ambassador Deniega’s tenure.
State Minister Khaleel thanked the Ambassador for the support the Phillippines continues to provide to the Maldives, especially during the pandemic and highlighted the important contributions made by Filipino workers in the Maldives, especially in the tourism and health sectors.
Ambassador Deniega also held meetings with senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
State Minister Khaleel was accompanied by Additional Secretary of the East and Central Asia Department, Mr. Javed Faizal, Executive Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms.Fathmath Naeema and Desk Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr.Ibrahim Haail.
