New High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Maldives Calls on Foreign Secretary
High Commissioner of Bangladesh Rear Admiral S M Abul Kalam Azad, NGP, ndc, psc, paid a courtesy call on Foreign Secretary, Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed today, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, Foreign Secretary Ghafoor congratulated the High Commissioner on presenting his credentials to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and wished him success in his tenure.
Foreign Secretary Ghafoor also thanked the Government of Bangladesh for the continuous assistance and support extended to Maldives in multiple spheres. He noted in particular the contributions made by Bangladeshi workers to the socio-economic growth of Maldives.
High Commissioner Azad thanked Foreign Secretary Ghafoor for the warm welcome, expressed his determination to continue working closely with the Government and people of Maldives to strengthen cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral arenas.
Foreign Secretary Ghafoor was accompanied by Joint Secretary, Fathimath Ghina and Aishath Leen Fazeeh, Senior Desk Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
