07 July 2014, Male'; The new Ambassador of Finland to the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Mr. Rauli Suikkanen has called on the Foreign Minister, Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon.
At the meeting held at the Foreign Ministry this afternoon, the Foreign Minister welcomed the Ambassador and congratulated him on his appointment. Foreign Minister also noted the close bilateral relations between the Maldives and Finland, and discussed ways of further strengthening the existing ties, especially in sectors such as tourism and investment promotion.
The Ambassador assured his commitment to working with the Government in strengthening the relations between the two countries and assured Finland's cooperation in the development of the Maldives.
Foreign Minister Dunya was accompanied by Ms. Fathimath Inaya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Hussain Jahhaz, Senior Desk Officer of the Foreign Ministry of the Maldives.
