Mr. Ibrahim Shaheeb has been appointed as the Additional Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday.
Mr. Shaheeb is a career diplomat who had previously served in the Foreign Ministry. He was Director for Cooperate Affairs before he left for further studies. Mr. Shaheeb has undertaken assignments in Maldives’ Missions abroad including serving as First Secretary at the Maldives High Commission in Singapore, First Secretary and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Maldives High Commission in India.
Most recently Mr. Shaheeb held the post of Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, from 2013-2015.
Mr. Shaheeb holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Development Studies from the Australian National University, Australia; and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore.
