Minister Zameer sends Independence Day greetings to the Foreign Minister of Barbados
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Moosa Zameer sends message of felicitations to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados, Kerrie Symmonds, M.P., on the occasion of the Independence Day of Barbados.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“On behalf of the Government and the People of the Republic of Maldives, and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to convey warmest greetings and best wishes to Your Excellency, the Government, and people of Barbados on the auspicious occasion of the Independence Day.
As two fellow Small Island Developing States (SIDS), the Maldives and Barbados share similar vulnerabilities and challenges. I remain confident in our commitment to collaboratively address shared challenges, with a particular focus on addressing the adverse effects of climate change.
I also take this opportunity to extend my best wishes for Your Excellency’s good health and well-being, and for further peace and prosperity for the people of Barbados.
