The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Moosa Zameer has sent a message of felicitation to His Excellency Enrique Austria Manalo, Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, in connection with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Maldives and the Republic of the Philippines.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“It gives me great pleasure to extend warm greetings and best wishes to Your Excellency, the Government, and the friendly people of the Philippines on the very special occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Maldives and the Republic of the Philippines.
Over the past 50 years, the Maldives and the Philippines have enjoyed warm people-to-people ties based on mutual respect and trust. The Philippine expatriate workers in tourism and other service industries in the Maldives also make significant contributions to our development.
Let me reiterate our commitment to continue working closely with Your Excellency, and the Government of the Philippines in deepening our friendship, strengthening our ties, and enhancing our cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of our two countries.
