Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives sent a message of felicitations to Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France on the occasion of the National Day
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid sent a message of felicitations to Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Yves Le Drian, on the occasion of the National Day of France.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“It gives me great pleasure to convey warm greetings and sincere good wishes of the Government and the People of Maldives, and those of my own, to Your Excellency, the Government and the people of France, on the jubilant occasion of your National Day. This historic day symbolises the unity of the French people and how they came together to meet their challenges.
France and the Maldives have had diplomatic ties since 20 May 1969. The Maldives welcomes thousands of French travellers to its shores every year, and we look forward to continuing to do so in the future as we navigate past these tumultuous times.
Both our nations stand together to address many challenges from terrorism to climate change. I look forward to the strengthening of the ties between our two nations in the years to come.
Let me also convey, Excellency, my personal best wishes for your good health and well-being, and for further progress of the people of France and the assurances of my highest considerations.”
