Minister Shahid sends Greetings to the Foreign Minister of Japan on the Occasion of the Birthday of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Naruhito
Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid sent a message of felicitations to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Hayashi Yoshimasa, on the auspicious occasion of the Birthday of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Naruhito.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
On the auspicious occasion of the Birthday of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Naruhito, I wish to extend warm greetings and sincere good wishes to Your Excellency and the friendly people of Japan.
As we celebrated the 55th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Maldives and Japan last year, we also reflect on our long-standing friendship and close cooperation that has contributed dramatically towards the expansion of our bilateral portfolio. The past five decades marks a journey of solid development for Maldives-Japan relations, which has brought tangible benefits to the two peoples, and has made Japan one of our closest and most reliable friends.
The recent visit by His Excellency Takei Shunsuke, State Minister of Foreign Affairs and Member of the House of Representatives of Japan, stands as a testament for your government’s keenness and commitment to further strengthen the relations between our two nations.
I remain confident that the traditional bonds of friendship between our two peoples and our countries will continue to strengthen in the years to come.
