Foreign Minister sent a message of condolence to Foreign Minister of Japan on the 10th anniversary of the devastating 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid has today sent a message of condolence to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, His Excellency Motegi Toshimitsu, as the country marks the 10th anniversary of the devastating 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“As we mark the 10th Anniversary of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake today, on behalf of the Government and the Maldivian people, I would like to extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the Government and friendly people of Japan. Today, we remember the thousands of people who lost their lives, and who were gravely affected by the devastating earthquake. We stand together in solidarity with those whose lives were forever changed on that tragic day, and commend the commitment of Japan towards building a stronger nation.
Please accept, Excellency, my solemn prayers, good health and well-being and for the peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Japan.”
