Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has sent a message of condolence to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, following the attack on Lhubiria Secondary School, in Mpondwe in Western Uganda yesterday.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“Your Excellency,
I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news about the horrific attack on Lhubiria Secondary School in Mpondwe yesterday that has claimed the lives of many students and caused injury to others.
The Government of Maldives condemns this heinous act of terror in the strongest of terms. The Government and the people of the Maldives join me in extending our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the Government and people of Uganda, in particular, to the families of the deceased and injured in yesterday’s attack.”
