Minister Shahid Participates at the Panel Discussion at the Raisina Dialogue 202
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives Abdulla Shahid joins as a panelist at the panel discussion themed ‘Heart of the Matter: LiFE (Lifestyle for environment) for our Common Future’ held as part of the 8th edition of the Raisina Dialogue 2023, from 2-4 March 2023.
Minister Shahid discussed the vulnerability of Maldives and other Small Island Developing States and highlighted the role India’s Presidency of G20 can play in bringing the voice of vulnerable states to the center of discussion. Minister Shahid also highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s theme for G20 and thanked him for inclusivity and bringing the issue of climate change on to the agenda. Minister Shahid also stressed on the importance of access to predictable, adequate and sustainable climate finance for developing countries.
Joining him at the panel were, Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade of Bhutan, Tandi Dorji, G20 Sherpa of India Amitabh Kant, Vice President, Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives of Apple Inc., USA, Lisa Jackson and CEO of Bisleri, India, Angelo George. The panel was moderated by CEO of Children's Investment Fund Foundation, UK, Kate Hampton.
The Raisina Dialogue is a multilateral conference held annually in New Delhi, India. The conference addresses the most challenging issues facing the global community. Minister Shahid is on a three-day official visit to India, to attend the 8th edition of the Raisina Dialogue 2023 organised by the Observer Research Foundation and the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
