Minister Shahid meets with the Foreign Minister of South Africa
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid met with Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, Naledi Pandor, through a video conference call held this morning.
During the meeting, Minister Shahid and Minister Pandor expressed their commitment on further strengthening the existing friendly bilateral relations and discuss areas and avenues to enhance cooperation between the two countries. The two Ministers also shared perspectives on the situation of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and briefed on the measures undertaken by the respective Governments to contain the spread of the virus and to deal with the unprecedented global health emergency.
At today’s meeting, the Foreign Ministers discusses on international issues of mutual concern and also reaffirmed their commitment to collaborate more closely within the United Nations and in the multilateral sphere.
