Minister Shahid meets with the Foreign Minister of Kuwait
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid has today met with the Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of the State of Kuwait, His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
At the meeting held on the sidelines of the joint debate on the “situation in the middle east” at United Nations General Assembly in New York, the two ministers discussed matters of bilateral importance and on further strengthening the close ties of friendship between the Maldives and Kuwait. Minister Shahid also briefed Minister Al-Sabah on the economic and financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the present efforts underway to revive the Maldivian economy.
During the meeting, the two Minsters reiterated their commitment to collaborate more closely in the multilateral sphere, including the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. In this regard, Minister Shahid and Minister Al-Sabah expressed concern over the escalating aggressions by Israeli forces on Palestinian civilians.
