Both Ministers reaffirmed their commitment towards elevating cooperation between the two countries, both bilaterally, regionally, and multilaterally
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid held a virtual meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Madagascar, Dr. Djacoba A. S. Oliva Tehindrazanarivelo, today.
During the meeting, the two Ministers conversed on priorities for both countries, including the strengthening of multilateralism, to enable the international community to undertake challenges such as those brought forth by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Minister Shahid and Minister Tehindrazanarivelo shared perspectives on measures adopted to mitigate the effects of the pandemic, and the paths set towards recovery. Both Ministers also discussed on the importance of fortifying cooperation in the international fora to build mechanisms which will better equip nations with vulnerable economies, such as Maldives and Madagascar, to withstand circumstances such as these in the future.
