Minister Shahid holds a virtual meeting with the Foreign Minister of São Tomé and Príncipe
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid held a virtual meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Community of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, Edite Ten Jua this evening.
During the meeting, the two Ministers conversed on shared priorities in the international fora, as Small Island Developing States (SIDS), including sea level rise, climate change, and sustainable development. Both Ministers further spoke on the situation of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, and the measures in place to mitigate its effects and strive towards a complete and comprehensive recovery, in their respective countries. The two Ministers also discussed enhancing bilateral ties between the two countries and increasing cooperation and sharing of expertise in the field of tourism.
Minister Shahid and Minister Edite Ten Jua reaffirmed their commitment towards elevating cooperation between the two countries, both bilaterally and multilaterally, going ahead.
