Foreign Minister held a virtual interaction with High Commissioners of the Commonwealth African Member States in London.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid, today, held a virtual interaction with High Commissioners of the Commonwealth African Member States in London.
In his remarks, Minister Shahid highlighted the close relationship between the Maldives and Commonwealth countries, especially on issues of mutual interest. He further highlighted the many thematic areas on which the Maldives and Commonwealth Member States have worked together in the past and will work together in the multilateral arena. He also said that Commonwealth Member States should stand in solidarity with each other, bound by shared values and norms espoused in the Commonwealth charter.
During the meeting, Minister Shahid shared his perspectives on the sustainable recovery pathways from Covid19, enhancing climate action and protecting the planet, promoting sustainable development, and ensuring fair and equitable representation in the multilateral system.
