Minister of State meets Head of Division of European External Action Service
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel met the Head of Division for Asia Pacific Regional Affairs and South Asia, at the European External Action Service, Mr. Ioannis Giogkarakis-Argyropoulos, today.
At the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Minister Khaleel thanked the European Union for the on-going cooperation with the Maldives in various areas and expressed the Government of Maldives' appreciation to the European Union for the decision to start negotiations on a Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with the Maldives.
Both State Minister Khaleel and Head of Division Argyropoulos discussed areas for further enhancing cooperation between the Maldives and the European Union, such as counter terrorism, investment and trade promotion, and cooperation in the regional and international fora.
Head of Division Argyropoulos thanked the Maldives for participation at the Second Senior Officials Meeting held in Brussels on 10 September 2021, and congratulated the Maldives on the developments achieved in the past year.
