Minister of Foreign Affairs sends a message of condolence to the Vice President of Iran

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Moosa Zameer has sent a message of condolence to the Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran His Excellency Mohammad Mokhber on the passing away of Iran’s President and Foreign Minister in the tragic helicopter crash in Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province.

Minister’s message reads as follows:

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of His Excellency Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and His Excellency Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the delegation accompanying the President, in the helicopter crash in Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province yesterday. 

His Excellency Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi was a dedicated leader who will be remembered for his wisdom and unwavering commitment to the betterment of Iran and its people. His Excellency Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was a keen supporter of the renewed relationship between our two countries and we fondly remember his significant contributions to enhance the foreign policy of Iran. 

At this time of profound grief and sorrow, I pray to Almighty Allah to bless President Raisi and Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian and the accompanying delegation and to grant them Jannatul Firdaus. The Government and people of Maldives join me in offering our most sincere condolences to the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran on this tragic loss. May the memories and legacy of His Excellency Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and His Excellency Hossein Amir-Abdollahian continue to inspire generations to come.
