Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid concluded his official visit to Finland, today.
During the visit, Minister Shahid met with Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto, and Education Minister Li Andersson, and discussed ways to enhance the existing bilateral relations between both countries. Minister Shahid also discussed with Finnish business community, ways in which the trade ties between the Maldives and Finland can be further expanded.
The Maldives and Finland also signed an Air Services Agreement during this visit. The Agreement would allow international commercial air transport services between Maldives and Finland, and contribute to further strengthening people-to-people contact, and broader economic cooperation between both countries.
During the visit, Minister Shahid was accompanied by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Finland, Ahmed Latheef, Minister of State for Economic Development, Mohamed Iaad Hameed and Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shiuneen Rasheed.
