Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India to make an Official Visit to the Maldives
The Minister of External Affairs of India, Dr. S. Jaishankar will make an Official Visit to Northernmost Atolls of Maldives from 18-19 January 2023, on the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives Abdulla Shahid.
During the visit, official talks would be held between both Ministers to review the progress on bilateral cooperation, following which several Memorandums of Understanding will be exchanged. The Minister of External Affairs will also call on the President of the Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The Minister of External Affairs will also participate in the groundbreaking ceremony of the Hanimaadhoo International Airport Development Project to be undertaken through the Line of Credit arranged by the Government of India and inaugurate the Shaviyani Foakaidhoo Community Centre developed under Indian grant assistance.
Minister Dr. Jaishankar’s last visit to the Maldives was in March 2022 to Addu City. This visit will be Minister Dr. Jaishankar’s fourth visit to the Maldives, since assuming office in May 2019.
