The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Her Excellency Dunya Maumoon has sent a message of greetings to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mangala Samaraweera, on the Sixty-Eighth Anniversary of Independence of Sri Lanka.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“On the Sixty-Eighth Anniversary of Sri Lanka’s Independence, it is with great pleasure that I extend my heartiest congratulations and sincere best wishes to Your Excellency, the Government and the friendly people of Sri Lanka.
Maldives and Sri Lanka enjoys strong bilateral ties of friendship. As close neighbours and as regional partners of development, I am confident that our relations will further strengthen over the years and will contribute towards peace, progress and prosperity of both our countries and the South Asian region.
May I also convey my personal best wishes for the success and prosperity for the friendly people of Sri Lanka.”
