Minister Dunya sends condolence message to Egypt Foreign Minister

H.E. Ms. Dunya Maumoon, Minister of Foreign Affairs, has sent a message of condolence to H.E. His Excellency Mr. Sameh Hassan Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Arab Republic of Egypt following the tragic news of the death of H.E Mr.  Hisham Barakat, Prosecutor General of the Arab Republic of Egypt, after his motorcade was hit by a bomb blast in Cairo yesterday.

Minister’s message reads as follows.

It was with much shock and sorrow that I received the tragic news of the death of H.E Mr.  Hisham Barakat, Prosecutor General of the Arab Republic of Egypt, after his motorcade was hit by a bomb blast in Cairo yesterday.

The Government and the People of Maldives condemn this act especially in this holy month of Ramadan in its strongest terms. The Maldives also stands firm in its commitment to fight against the global menace of terrorism and will continue to work closely with Egypt and the international community as a whole in eliminating the scourge of terrorism.

At this time of sorrow, I would like to take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Your Excellency and the family of the deceased.
