29 March 2011, Male; The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Naseem, today encouraged the Syrian Government and the country's opposition to enter into meaningful dialogue as a way of ending violence and of strengthening human rights and freedoms in the country.
"The Muslim Awakening reminds us that people everywhere want the same thing - to live in open, democratic and tolerant societies and to fully enjoy their fundamental rights and freedoms. It is behold on all governments to listen to these aspirations and to work with the people to fulfil them", said the Minister.
