14th June 2011, Geneva; The Maldives today joined Turkey and other OIC States in condemning Israel's continued non-cooperation with the UN Human Rights Council over the May 2010 attack on the Gaza-bound humanitarian Flotilla. Speaking in response to a report by the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights on the follow-up to the conclusions of the Council's Fact-Finding Mission (FFM) on the Flotilla Incident, H.E. Ms. Iruthisham Adam called on Israel to cooperate with the international community and ensure the immediate implementation of the conclusions contained in the FFM Report.
The Maldives also welcomed the establishment of the Secretary-General's Panel of Inquiry on the Flotilla Incident, and called on the Panel to take into consideration the report of the Fact-Finding Mission and the reports of the High Commissioner on the issue.
