05 December 2013, Male';The Maldives and China have today signed an Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Maldives, under which the Chinese government will provide 50 million Yuan in grant aid to the Maldives.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs H. E. Ms. Dunya Maumoon signed the agreement on behalf of the Government of Maldives by and the Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, H. E. Mr. Yu Hongyao signed on behalf of the Government of the People's Republic of China.
The grant aid is to be used for developmental projects in the Maldives.
