Lord (Tariq) Ahmad of Wimbledon, Minister of State for South and Central Asia, UN and the Commonwealth of the United Kingdom to make an official visit
Minister of State for South and Central Asia, UN and the Commonwealth and Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict of the United Kingdom Lord (Tariq) Ahmad of Wimbledon will arrive to the Maldives on official visit on 15 February 2022.
During this visit, Lord Ahmad will pay courtesy calls on the President of the Republic of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Speaker of the People’s Majlis, President Mohamed Nasheed and hold bilateral talks with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel. Lord Ahmad will also attend the Official Opening Ceremony of the British High Commission office in Male’. He will also visit Addu City.
This visit will mark the first high level visit to the Maldives from the United Kingdom since 2018.
