07th November 2012, Male'; Minister of Foreign Affairs His Excellency Dr. Abdul Samad Abdullah met with His Excellency Mr. Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of today.
At the meeting, Dr. Samad expressed his gratitude to the Indian Government for the priceless support given to the democracy movement in the Maldives.The Minister also briefed to the Joint Secretary on current political situation in the Maldives.
The Joint Secretary expressed support, and welcomed forward steps taken by the Maldivian government. He further stated that India would always hope to see a peaceful and stable Maldives, and would provide its fullest cooperation and assistance in achieving such an environment in the Maldives.
The meetings was also attended by His Excellency Mr. D.M. Muley, High Commissioner of the Republic of India to the Republic of Maldives and Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
