Indian Governments extends assistance to the Maldives to support ongoing efforts against the spread of COVID-19

At the request of the Government of Maldives, the Indian Government has decided to send a fourteen member medical team to support the Maldives health services

At the request of the Government of Maldives, the Indian Government has decided to send a fourteen member medical team to support the Maldives health services in their work in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the Maldives.

Additionally, the Government of India has also decided provide, as grant assistance, three month stock of essential medicines to the Maldives, following a request made by the Government of Maldives to make a special exemption from the export restrictions placed on medicines by the Government of India due to COVID-19.

The Government has extended its deep appreciation to Prime Minister Modi and the Government of India for its timely assistance towards the Maldivian Government’s efforts to counter the spread of COVID-19 in the Maldives.
