The Indian Government has decided to provide, as grant assistance, 50,000 units of Hydroxycholoroquine to the Maldives. The medicine that is being used against a variety of ailments, including for COVID-19, arrived in the Maldives today, via Maldivian Airlines cargo flight from Chennai.
The medicine is being donated to the people of Maldives, as a goodwill gesture, under a special exemption.
The Government has extended its deep appreciation to Prime Minister Modi and the Government of India for this timely assistance towards the Maldivian people.
