28th July 2011, Male'; The Minister of Foreign Affairs, H. E. Mr. Ahmed Naseem today received the Minister of External Affairs of India H.E.Mr. S.M. Krishna at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport. The Minister of External Affairs is visiting the Maldives on a two-day official visit.
Minister Naseem was accompanied by the High Commissioner of India in Maldives H.E. Mr. Dnyaneshwar M. Mulay and senior officials of the Foreign Ministry.
During his two-day official visit to the Maldives, Minister of External Affairs H.E. Mr. S.M. Krishna will be paying a courtesy call on the President of Maldives His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Nasheed and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Naseem. The External Affairs Minister will also officially handover USD 5 million as cash assistance to the country for organising the SAARC Summit to be held in November. He will also inaugurate an India Cultural Center in Male and visit Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
The External Affairs Minister will also visit Addu City to observe the progress of the preparations underway for the upcoming SAARC Summit.
