High Commissioner of Pakistan to Maldives pays a farewell call on Minister Shahid
High Commissioner of Pakistan, Vice Admiral (R) Ather Mukthar, paid a farewell call on Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid this morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Congratulating High Commissioner Ather Mukhtar for the successful completion of his term, Minister Shahid expressed appreciation for his dedication and commitment towards strengthening the bilateral ties between the Maldives and Pakistan. Both Minister Shahid and High Commissioner Mukthar reflected on key areas of bilateral cooperation between the two countries including health, education and social sectors. Minister Shahid and High Commissioner Mukhtar also discussed expanding the partnership between the Maldives and Pakistan in the areas of trade and tourism by strengthening connectivity between the two countries.
High Commissioner Mukthar thanked Minister Shahid for the support extended to him during his tenure and expressed hope for stronger bilateral relations between the Maldives and Pakistan, in the coming years. The High Commissioner also congratulated Minister Shahid on his successful tenure as the President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Minister Shahid was accompanied by State Minister Ahmed Khaleel, Secretary Bilateral, Dr Hala Hameed and Joint Secretary, Fathimath Ghina at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
