The High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Masood Imad presented his Letter of Credence to the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Ranil Wickremesinghe, at a ceremony held this morning at the President’s House, Colombo.
High Commissioner Masood Imad expressed his profound honor on his appointment and noted that he is deeply aware of the trust and responsibility entrusted to him by His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives, to serve as the representative in Sri Lanka.
High Commissioner Masood Imad reiterated his commitment to strengthen the historic and special bond that unites the two nations, adding that he will work tirelessly to enhance bilateral relations. He emphasized that Sri Lanka is not only an invaluable partner in the socioeconomic development of the Maldives but also as a cherished second home for many Maldivians, including himself.
High Commissioner Masood Imad also conveyed greetings from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer and the people of Maldives to the President and the people of Sri Lanka.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe congratulated High Commissioner Masood Imad on the assumption of his duties as High Commissioner of Maldives to Sri Lanka. Wishing success in his tenure, President Ranil Wickremesinghe assured High Commissioner Masood Imad that his government is fully committed to enhance Maldives – Sri Lanka relations and will extend their full support during his tenure.
