Government of Maldives welcomes the European Union’s decision to deploy Electoral Observation Mission to the Maldives
The Government of the Maldives welcomes the decision of the European Union to deploy an EU Election Observation Mission (EOM) to Maldives to observe the upcoming Presidential Elections scheduled for 9 September, following an invitation by the Elections Commission of Maldives.
The EU has remained a steadfast ally to the Maldives in its efforts to consolidate democracy and strengthen good governance. The deployment of an EU Election Observation Mission to the Maldives demonstrates the EU’s commitment to support the efforts of democracy consolidation and upholding rule of law in the Maldives.
