Government of Maldives and Government of Saudi Arabia signs a Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid signed a “Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Political Consultations Between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, yesterday.

This Memorandum of Understanding signed at a ceremony held in New York on the side-lines of the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, aims to enhance and expand the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. The Memorandum of Understanding will also facilitate holding of regular consultations between both countries at all levels on bilateral relations and international issues of mutual interest.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding expresses the strong brotherly relations between Maldives and Saudi Arabia, and the shared desire and commitment of the two countries to elevate the existing partnership to even greater heights.
