05 May 2014, Male'; Foreign Service Institute of Maldives (FOSIM) has held a briefing session for the newly nominated High Commissioners and Ambassadors.
During the briefing held today at the Ministry, nominated Ambassadors were briefed on foreign policy, bilateral relations, functions and responsibilities of an Ambassador and the issues related to diplomatic communication, protocol, consular, administration and budget.
The briefing session started with welcome remarks from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon, followed by the introductory remarks from the Former Ambassador at-Large Mr. Abdul Azeez Yoosuf.
Participants of the briefing were the High Commissioner-designate to Malaysia, Mr. Mohamed Fayaz;, High Commissioner nominated to Sri Lanka, Ms. Zahiya Zareer; High Commissioner nominated to Pakistan, Major General (Retired) Moosa Ali Jaleel;Ambassador nominated to China, Mr Ali Hameed; and Deputy Ambassador nominated to Saudi Arabia Mr. Usama Mohamed Rasheed.
Briefing Committee members were Foreign Secretary Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed; Ambassador at-Large, Mr. Abdulla Hameed; Ambassador at-Large Dr. Mohamed Asim; Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hassan Shifau; and Dr. Aishath Shehenaz Adam.
