Foreign Secretary of India calls on the Minister of Foreign Affairs

Minister and the Foreign Secretary highlighted the traditionally close bilateral relations between the two countries

The Foreign Secretary of the Republic of India Harsh Vardhan Shringla called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid today.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this afternoon, the Minister and the Foreign Secretary highlighted the traditionally close bilateral relations between the two countries. They also discussed the prospective developments, and the road to recovery from the Covid19 pandemic. Minister Shahid also conveyed his gratitude to the Indian Government for the steadfast determination of the Government of India, to assist the Maldivian Government during this pandemic.

The Foreign Secretary is visiting the Maldives on a two-day official visit, to take stock of progress on the ongoing initiatives and projects under the Maldives-India Development Partnership. This is the first official visit by Foreign Secretary Shringla to the Maldives.
