Foreign Minister thanks the Australian Government for its Assistance

04 December 2013, Male';Ministerof Foreign Affairs H. E. Ms.Dunya Maumoon has thanked the Australian government for its assistance towards the human resource development of the Maldives. Foreign Minister thanked the Australian Government while speaking at a function held at Traders Hotel to congratulate the Maldivian recipients of Australia Awards Scholarships for the 2014 intake and to honour Maldives Australia Awards alumni.



Speaking at the function Minister said that the Maldives greatly values its friendship with Australia and appreciate the commitment of the Government of Australia towards further strengthening the enduring relations between the two countries. While noting that these scholarships have also made invaluable contributions and continue to be extremely important for the overall human resources development of the Maldives, the Minister thanked the Government and the Australian people for their generosity. Minister Dunya also congratulated all the recipients of the Australian Awards scholarships and expressed hope that they will make the best use of the opportunity and return to the Maldives to make the nation proud.

The function was also attended by Minister of Education Dr Aishath Shiham, as Chief Guest, Australian High Commissioner to the Maldives, H. E. Ms. Robyn Mudie, Maldives High Commissioner to Australia, H. E. Mr. Hussain Shihab, Senior Officials of the Government of Maldives and several Maldives Australia Awards alumni.
