Foreign Minister Shahid sends National Day greetings to Foreign Minister of Switzerland
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid sends a message of feliciatation to the Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Ignazio Cassis on the occassion of the National Day of Switzerland.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“It gives me great pleasure to extend warm wishes and felicitations on behalf of the People and the Government of the Maldives and on my own behalf, to Your Excellency, the People and the Government of the Swiss Confederation, on the joyous occasion of your National Day.
Switzerland and the Maldives have had a vibrant and strong bilateral relations since the inception of diplomatic relations on 14 December 1981. The past four decades have seen Maldives-Switzerland relations grown from strength to strength, especially in areas of mutual interest such as climate action, upholding democracy and human rights, and sustainable development.
I am confident that this cooperation and close relations will endure in the years to come and look forward to stronger collaboration both at the bilateral and multilateral fora.
