Foreign Minister Shahid sends Independence Day greetings to Foreign Minister of Bangladesh
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Abdulla Shahid has sent a message of felicitations to Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, on the occasion of Bangladesh’s Fifty - First Independence Day. Minister’s message reads as follows:
“As the Government and people of Bangladesh celebrate the auspicious occasion of its Fifty-First Independence Day, I would like to extend warm greetings and sincere good wishes on behalf of the Government and people of Maldives to Your Excellency, the Government and people of Bangladesh.
The Maldives and Bangladesh will celebrate forty - four years of diplomatic relations in November this year. However, the links between our peoples date centuries and the relations between our two countries have diversified and strengthened over time. I am pleased to note that the recent high-level engagements have further cemented our partnership. I assure you that we remain committed to preserve and enhance the time-tested relations of friendship and cooperation between Maldives and Bangladesh.
I take this opportunity to convey my best wishes for your good health and well-being, and for the continued progress and prosperity of the brotherly people of Bangladesh.
