Foreign Minister Shahid meets with USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator Kaur
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid met the Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Asia at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Änjali Kaur, this morning.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Shahid and Deputy Assistant Administrator Kaur discussed the growing partnership between the Maldives and USAID, especially in the areas of public finance management, democratic governance, individual and community resilience and the environment.
Both Minister Shahid and Deputy Assistant Administrator Kaur further reflected on the ongoing projects of USAID in the Maldives and explored potential avenues to expand the partnership. Minister Shahid also expressed appreciation to USAID and the Government of the United States for the continuous contributions made towards the socio-economic development of the Maldives and stressed on the importance of sustaining the partnership.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel, Secretary (Bilateral) Dr. Hala Hameed, Joint Secretary Shiuneen Rasheed and Assistant Director Mohamed Shaffau Ibrahim.
Deputy Assistant Administrator Kaur was accompanied by USAID Mission Director Gabriel Grau and officials from the USAID Mission to the Maldives.
