Foreign Minister Shahid held a virtual meeting with his Portuguese counterpart.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Abdulla Shahid held a virtual meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, His Excellency Augusto Santos Silva today.
Discussions were held on cooperation at the multilateral fora in addressing climate change and environmental issues, with special focus on Ocean Action. Noting the importance of oceans for both countries, the Ministers expressed the importance of finding creative solutions at the UN Ocean Conference to be held in Lisbon.
Further discussions were held on enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and reinvigorating people-to-people contact between the two countries.
