Minister Shahid briefed Minister Pham on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Maldives and the measures implemented to curb the spread of the virus
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid had a telephone conversation with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, His Excellency Mr. Pham Binh Minh, this afternoon.
During the telephone conversation, Minister Shahid briefed Minister Pham on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Maldives and the measures implemented to curb the spread of the virus. Minister Shahid also highlighted on the economic and financial aspects of the pandemic and thanked the Government of Viet Nam for the generous assistance provided for the fight against Covid-19.
The Foreign Ministers discussed avenues to collaborate between the two countries in various areas that are of mutual benefit as the Maldives and Viet Nam celebrate 45 years of diplomatic relations.
